Catalans Dragons produced a fine against-the-odds performance as they recorded a 24-18 win at Warrington Wolves on Friday night.

Matt Whitley opened the scoring for the visitors, Josh Drinkwater converting, before Matty Ashton replied with Stefan Ratchford adding the goal for 6-6 - which is how it stayed at half time.

But Catalans would take control in the second half, despite missing the likes of Sam Tomkins and Michael McIlorum on the night.

Arthur Romano went in first on 46 minutes, Mitchell Pearce following up on 55 minutes - Drinkwater converting both tries as the visitors went 18-6 up.

Mickael Goudemand then added to his side's lead as the final ten minutes closed in. Our League Player of the Match Drinkwater converted again to put the game almost beyond doubt.

Though Josh Charnley scored twice, plus two more Ratchford goals, in the final five minutes, the Dragons held on for a memorable win.

Also on Friday night, St Helens put on a show as they beat Hull KR 42-8 on the road.

Tommy Makinson proved to be the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick and kicking five goals for a 22-point haul.

Lewis Dodd also got a first-half double, while Sione Mata'utia bagged a try in each half alongside a late try for Alex Walmsley.
